WORKING FROM LIFE

Born and raised in the bush, Scott has a passionate interest in Australian history and folklore, and cites artists including Tom Roberts, Norman Lindsay and Ivor Hele as inspirations for his work.

Scott’s sculpts are from life studies combined with historical images and artifacts; he works in ‘impressionist’ to ‘hyper-realism’ styles – always with research, technical and historic accuracy as the foundation of each sculpture.

He takes an immersive, collaborative approach to any sculpture project; full client involvement in the initial creative and design stages, in full partnership with the foundry.

Scott’s industrial & environmental design education & experience means he can take sculpture projects through to the setting or space it will be placed, liaising with heritage architects, landscapers and local trades to complete the setting.

‘I work through the complete project, from initial sketches, a scale marquette/study all the way through to installation of your sculpture onsite. I love the foundry process and as an environmental designer I also work with heritage architects and landscape designers to help create a setting for the sculpture.’

 Scott hails from Mudgee NSW.
